Over the past few years it’s become increasingly difficult for my mother to do the holiday baking. Her arthritic hand and wrist were not able to keep up with the family baking requirements. Being from the old school of baking there was not many things my mother would do with the help of electric kitchen appliances. Finally after watching her struggle I convinced her of the fact that she should consider an electric hand mixer, and shopping I went, in the hopes of finding a mixer that would help her with the physical demands of baking, and for my own selfish reasons of not wanting to miss out on her delicious home baked recipes.
After doing research, and shopping the internet for various brands my solution to the saving the holiday baking would be the KitchenAid hand mixer professional series.
The KitchenAid hand mixer professional offered a number of features:
· Easy-to-Use 9-Speed Control
· Stainless Steel Pro Whisk
· Electronic Digital Control
· Beater Ejector Button (Oversized)
· Three Slow Stir Speeds
· One High Whip Speed
· Soft Start® for Better Control
· Clean Touch™ Controls
· Double Batches
· Comfort-Designed Handle
· Electronic Mixing Sensor
· Rounded Power Cord
· Protected Air Vents
· Heel Rest
· Stainless Steel Professional Turbo Beater™ Accessories
First off, this is a nice, relatively light, with a handle that is very easy to hold onto, and it’s really easy to use. The surge button and speed control-on/off-eject buttons are all ideally placed where they’re easy to reach and use. The beaters are easy to insert. The Whisk is similarly simple to insert, and you can use either opening. The Soft Start feature is quite nice to have as well. The power cord is about four feet long, which makes it great for kitchens where electrical outlets are at a premium or out of the way.
The KitchenAid hand mixer is easy to clean. Wash the attachments in hot, soapy water, rinse and dry. Wipe the mixer body, cord and case with a clean damp cloth. Don’t use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads, and never immerse the mixer in liquid.
My mother has used her KitchenAid hand mixer many many times since we’ve purchased it, for everything from quick breads to cakes, and we’ve not had a single problem. From whipping cream to creaming butter and sugar, this mixer has made baking a breeze! Highly recommended kitchen appliance, and if you looking for a nice upgrade or compliment to the kitchenaid hand mixer try the kitchenaid classic mixer.
